Description: A Euro 7,5 million multi-year consortium dedicated to strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems in Nigeria, Egypt and Somalia. ‘Work in Progress!’ project is part of LEAD (Local Employment in Africa for Development) funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
VC4A role and results: VC4A sourced partners in each country, and co-designed and managed country program implementation, to set up accelerator programs in Nigeria, Egypt and Somalia. VC4A conducted in country bootcamps, facilitated the startup recruitment, assessment and selection of entrepreneurs for physical acceleration support. VC4A developed online tools for the partner accelerators and an online academy and learning toolkit for all participating entrepreneurs, and offered virtual incubation services. Through strategic partnership with African Business Angels Network (ABAN) angel investor workshops are organized to unlock more seed capital for ventures that graduate the acceleration programs.
